This school has a bad reputation. I will admit that when I was first zoned for here, I believed the hype and hoped to transfer as quickly as possible. However, a year into it I came to love the school. The teachers greatly care about the individual students success, and the environment is very conducive to learning. I am in the IB programme as well, which is a very thriving AP/Honors system that many of the student body is involved in. Don't fall for the bad reputation of this school, or the greatschools rating! It is the best high school in the county receiving the most money by more than 3x the next highest school in scholarship money last year!

A horrible school in my opinion. The classes aren't that hard and I'm not in IB although I am eligble for it. The guidance are horrible seriously I don't know why they get paid they don't seem to care for the students. I am currently trying to get out of a honors class but they have no power to get me out and I have to arrange a meeting with the Principal just for that? forget it it's not worth the time. The teachers however, some of them are good and some of them are horrible. I would advise you to go to Bayshore or Braden River.

The IB program is a very good program. The newly formed IB Parents Association has been doing a lot to to enhance student academic excellence and teacher proficiency and performance. The revised mission and vision statements have reset the expectation for achieving the school's highest potential. The new principal has demonstrated openess to new ideas and willingness to explore new avenues for academic excellence.

I am an IB Sophomore, and I KNOW going to SEHS was the best educational idea for me. If I had gone to a school without IB, I would have been so bored with school. But now, I have enaging and interesting teachers and a, for the most part, highly active class of 2013. None of these negative comments make any sense. Those that claim that IB is a waste of time or is too easy did not saty long enough to be in the actual IB program. Choose Southeast High School, and as always, GO NOLES!!!

This school is absolutely amazing! My youngest daughter just started going here, and she loves it. Her older brother is a senior, and has been at Southeast throughout highschool. I would never put my children in any other high school. The IB program is excellent, and is a very good challenge for students. Especially the acedemically gifted ones. The teachers are fantastic, and very helpful and organized. Parents, make the right choice and put your children in Southeast! You won't regret it.

I am a student at Southeast an I absoluely adore it. Being in IB, I find that although the program is challenging everyone is very helpful and amazing. We have fantastic teachers, great students and wonderful clubs and activites, that have been acknowledged locally as well as on a national and even global scale.

I just started going to this school and I already love it. I disagree with whoever posted the the one star comment. I am in IB, and all they want is that the parents be more involved with their childrens lives. IB is hard, but so far worth it. I am learning so much and it's teaching me how to organize and plan. People do really get along well. Do not listen to the bad comments here.

Ill informed teachers are plentiful. There are a few good ones. The IB program is more hype than reality...would have home schooled...most are so out of touch it is scary and it is a shame that a parent has to be so involved for the student to get the education and schooling they are promised. Mr. Horne, the Principal, is not a good administrator and very unorganized. There is no proactive guidance for the students for college and the communication factor is sooooo poor. The IB Programs in other counties are far superior than this one. We have teachers taking assignments off the internet from other IB programs. Teachers can't give the kids a syllabus for the entire quarter, let alone semester, to help them with the managing of the workload. Never, ever, again.

This is a great school. Every one gets along great! There are really no 'clicks' and we all seem to get long fine. It has very good teachers (at least in the I.B. program) and it has a nice campus, even though it is in the middle of a ghetto... Over all this is a great school!

I am a teacher at Southeast and really believe the education in this school is as good as it gets. The quality of teacher in this is school is exceptional and the IB Programme really prepares students to further their educations. I have had many students return and are very complimentary of the quality of education they felt they received. Unfortunately, Southeast is located in a poor section of town. As a result, the public assumes that the education and the learning environment is not as good as other area schools. I ASURE you, they are mistaken. Each student is very important to me and my colleagues. I encourage you to visit the campus and speak with the faculty members. I gave the school 4 out of 5 stars bc I don't believe the alternating block scheduling is healthy for the students. That is the district's fault, not the school's.

Southeast highschool overall is a moderate school at best. If your looking to send your child somewhere they can receive a respectable education in technology, Southeast is definately not the place to go.

I am in IB and personally, I wouldn't have gotten through this year if it wasn't for the exceptional teachers here. Especially in the math classes the teachers are flexible to student learning style and use lots of hands on instead of just computer programs to teach for them. And my parents have never had a displeasure coming to the staff for help. South East's system has been runing smoothly for me as it has been for years.

SE High School is absolutely the worst. I'm an out of state non-custodial parent that received absolutely no help from anyone. This goes all the way up to the superintendent Mr. Dearing. A poor quality school that when a parent asks for help, the request falls on deaf ears. These children will go out into the world representing whatever education they gathered from Se and not be productive adults. It's a sad situation there. When I went for a parent/teacher conference, 2 teachers showed up and the principal, Mr. Horne, wouldn't even come out of his office to meet me. That's not showing good leadership skills.

I am in my junior year at Southeast in IB and I love it. The environment is great, the people are great, the classes are great. I hear about people from other schools being so unhappy, but you never hear complaints from Southeast students. We are the only worth-while school in the county. Our sports are amazing, academics is booming with IB, and the Visual and Performing Arts Academy puts our art programs at the top of the list. This place has become my home and i dont know what I'll do when college comes around.
